This new AE200 is definitely a “step-above” my older AE100 (1999) with several improvements. Suffice it to say, this is an amp that has to be heard to be believed and appreciated! The digital reverb is just so intense, rich, and deep – just the way it should be. I also notice more sensitivity in the newer “Buff” control as well as mini-knobs replacing the earlier “mini-toggle switch” design. Every time I play this little amp, I can’t believe the tone and projection that it’s capable of producing. “Five Stars” go to Scot and Julia for their excellent service and dedication to the archtop guitar players of the world – bravissimo!

First I have exclusively played through Evans amps for almost 30 years. When you are out there playing gigs 6-7 days a week you need great tone, portability and dependability. Evans has always been amazing on all fronts. The new AE200 is a step up for Archtop players especially. I found the tone to be warmer and more even. Very clear and transparent and higher notes strong and full. It speaks quickly and I found it very responsive. I especially noted that in poor acoustic settings where tone deteriorates rapidly the AE200 really held up and sounded great. Really a must have amp for any Archtop player.
